The Troubles Facing the Cannabis Industry in New Jersey
When the state of New Jersey first legalized recreational cannabis use in 2020, professionals like Hirsh Jain rejoiced at the thought of such a lucrative business entering one of the most prosperous economies the United States has to offer. However, now six years later, the cannabis industry is severely struggling to perform even close to the rates that were once expected of it. This issue is multi-faceted, and I was able to spend a semester at Rowan University researching and interviewing sources to figure out why this problem has occurred. The results: A 16-and-a-half-minute long video uncovering what exactly went wrong with the cannabis industry in New Jersey.
